New Orleans kept chicory in its coffee long after it had to. So do we.
New Orleans is where American coffee learned to slow down: dark roasts steeped with roasted chicory root, poured thick with milk in cafés that never really close. Chicory began as a wartime stretch, when coffee was scarce and the roasted root made it go further. The city kept it for a better reason — it makes the cup rounder, sweeter, smoother.
That's the first cup we bottled, and we make it the long way: small batches of dark-roast coffee and roasted chicory, steeped cold for 18 hours and bottled in Brooklyn. Chicory is where we started, not where we'll stop — more coffees are coming. We hand-deliver around Brooklyn, and ship cold everywhere else.
We're new, and we'd rather earn your stars than invent them. If anything about your order isn't right, reply to your receipt email and a human will fix it.
